Bold Bright Thami Baju
This stylish top and wrap skirt is known traditionally as a thami and baju in the Rohingya language. The top is fitted and the skirt is a clever design made from one long piece of fabric sewn together in a loop, that folds back and tucks into the waste band.
This suit has been designed and made by a Rohingya Testimony Tailor living in the refugee camps in Bangladesh. It comes in a variety of colours: yellow, salmon pink, orange and blue (note that your gift may be in a different colour than the one shown in the image).
Buy this dress to give as a gift to another refugee. You will be emailed a photo of your gift after it has been delivered.
A small amount of the profit will be given to the Rohingya women’s sewing co-operative. Most of the profit will be given to the Rohingya woman who made the item.
In buying this gift you are giving twice – to the refugee who receives the dress and to the woman survivor who made the dress.
